4th of July :)

Today was an amazing 4th of July! Much better than last year. Even though Chris had to work we were still able to spend some time together. We first woke up and went to the Clearfield parade like we do every year. Then after that we went to the Kaysville park to do their bounce thing and the booths there and even though it was rainy for the first part there it was still fun! The rain was so refreshing though. I got to see all my sisters there and my brothers and brother in laws that it was as it was an all fun family event. Then after that we went to my friend Aubrey's sister in law's house and had a BBQ there and also got to meet her adorable daughter Tessa for the first time so that was just an added  bonus. The funny story behind that was I was at Maverick the other day and the lady in front of me turns to me and tells me that she knows me she then ask me if my name is Jackie and I kinda felt strange at this point. To make a long story short she tells me that she is Aubrey's sister in law and invited me to her house to see Aubrey. I thought that was so nice of her. She didn't even have to do that. But Rocky had so much fun at her house playing with all the kids and I enjoy spending time with Aubrey and her family. Then I had to pick up Chris from work and we all went to my in laws house and shot off fireworks and watched the Clearfield fireworks there like we do every year. Its so nice to say my in laws house instead of our house....lol! I am so glad that the 4th of July was on a Monday so we can only celebrate it one day. Last year was so hectic and busy for us, it was also a time for change. A good change! We are doing really good for ourselves and I feel really really blessed for everything in our lives!! Happy Birthday America!!

A Kindergarten Graduation and A move!

Well its official! Rocky is no longer a kindergarten, he graduated on June 1st 2011. I am so proud of my little guy! He got an award for perfect attendance because he didn't miss one day! He is like his mommy in that way because I had perfect attendance in Junior high and High school.

This is his kindergarten class sitting and listening to their teacher Mrs. Buhler reading a book to them. All her books have a lesson and this lesson was about moving on and being whoever you want to be. She was such a great teacher and we are going to miss her. I guess she is not going to go back to Vae View. She has a few interviews so she doesn't know where she is going yet. We gave her a plant and a card to thank her for being such a wonderful teacher. I hope Rocky is lucky next year with another great teacher.

We also moved!! YEAH!! We finally moved out my in laws and into our own apartment. We love it! Its perfect for us! Its not too far away from Rocky's school so he can still go to the same school. After a long and tiring process of looking and looking for several apartments and getting denied we finally found one. I guess we found one that was right for our family.

It was funny because Friday the 27th of May was the day we went and looked at this apartment and sign the application. And to me I wasn't promising anything because we had bad news before so I wasn't keeping my hopes up at this point but we went to Lucky China that day and this was my fortune: "Lady Luck Will Soon Visit You" and then the next day we got the call that the apartment was ours. Isn't that so cool that my fortune actually came true. I am for sure going to keep this fortune forever because I know it brought us good luck! I am so blessed to have a healthy family and also feel blessed that we found this place to call our own. God really answered our prayers. I am also grateful that we did it all on our own with no help. We found an apartment that we can afford and we are really doing great for ourselves, I couldn't ask for more.

Rocky's 6th year checkup

He did really well. He let the doctor check his mouth, eyes, ears and mouth and of course his chest. Everything looks good. The doctor said that he is doing well and he looks good. He was even talking to the doctor and telling him about school. He didn't get any shots. He weighs 43 pounds 32% and his height is 46.25 inches 66%. He doesn't have to see the doctor again until he is 8 so every 2 to 3 years now.

Rocky's 6th Birthday Party!

Rocky is 6!!

Yesterday was Rocky's 6th birthday and also his birthday party. I think it was one of the best birthday parties he ever had. We went to Boondocks to celebrate it and it was such a blast. Everyone has such a great time! The hostess did everything, even cut and served the cake and ice cream and even served the pizza and drinks to the kids. They even did some magic tricks for the kids. I thought that was pretty cool.
All the kids

We first had pizza and drinks and while we were eating the hostess was doing magic tricks and then we sang happy birthday to Rocky and had cake and ice cream and then opened presents.

I thought this was cool, while we were singing to him they would spin
him around with tickets.

Opening presents!

After all of that we had the kids go bowling and they had a blast. It takes a while to get through 11 kids bowling but it was still fun. And then they had a 5 dollar game card to spend on the arcade so it was all worth it. Rocky had a wonderful birthday! I think you got a lot for what you spent.

The kids bowling!!

Everyone that was there was: Nana Heckert and Uncle Justin, Papa Vasquez (or new papa what Rocky calls him), Aunt Jordan and her kids, Aunt Johanna and her kids, Me and Chris of course, Nana, Trena and her family, John Harmon and his daughter Olivia, My friend Amy and her daughter Abbey. And Aunt Taylor and Gene. And this was the first year that Rocky invited friends so I was so excited. His friend Grant from school and his dad came and also his sister. I think it was a great turn out. Everyone had so much fun! By the end of the day some of us had a headache but it was all worth it. I am so glad he had a great birthday! I can't believe my son Rocky Arthur Harmon is 6 already. He is going be going into the 1st grade and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Changes in 2011

Things are going to start changing this year for the better. I knew this was going to be our year and so far I am right. Chris finally got a job after 9 long months of being unemployed! I am so excited for him!! I am also proud of him for not giving up. He is going to be an Assistant Operations Supervisor at Savers. He starts today. Its kinda weird because I used to work there years ago but it seems like it a lot better today. I liked working there it was just the people that were running it at the time wasn't too smart...lol. I hope this job works out for him. Its just a huge weight off my shoulders. I think he will be really good at it.
I am thinking about quitting my job today. In fact I think I am. Because I don't get treated with respect there and Sunday was my breaking point. I was really sore on Sunday from walking the 5K the day before and I really didn't feel like coming in and sitting on my butt for 4-6 hours. There is this recording that we have to check everyday to see if we are working, I know stupid, so I check it that day and it said that all shifts are schedule to run but he can take a few calls in and to call him at a certain number at a certain time. So I called that number during those times and he told me that they had to take that away because they got a project at the last minute and I tried to tell him that I was sore and I didn't feel like coming in and he told me that I would be fine and I would only be working for 4 hours but it didn't end there. I was upset because he isn't suppose to do that, change things at the last minute. So I went in being a good employee and he just started making fun of me the minute that I walked in. I didn't think that was very professional of him to do that. I so deserve to be treated with respect at a job. After that day I couldn't handle it and I didn't want to come back in. So today I am going to go in and tell him that today is my last day. I am just grinding my teeth of the thought of going back in there. I think it would be good for me to quit because I can concentrate on my boys again and start looking for a new and better job for me.
On a good note we still have money in our savings from our tax return!! YEAH!! So I know that we will be fine with only Chris working until I find a new job. We have done it before and we can do it again. I am so glad he got a job because now we can start looking for apartments and get out of my in laws. I can't wait until that day that we are on our own again. Its kinda scary because I don't want to get into the same mess that we were before but I know we can get through anything and plus we need to be on our own, we need to have our own place for us and the boys. We shouldn't be relieving on anyone to support us. We aren't going to hurry out we are going to take our time so we don't get too overwhelmed because we don't want to do that. So far we are not making the same mistakes we did last year and I think we learned from them quick. It wasn't a way we wanted to learn them but everything happens for a reason.
Since we still have money in savings we are going to give Rocky a great birthday.  So next month on his 6th birthday we are going to have his party at Boondocks because that is what he wanted. He deserves it! He has been doing really well in school, going everyday and becoming smarter everyday. The other day at school he wrote his first sentence! I am so proud of my little guy!! He is growing up so well and I think its thanks to us and plus his wonderful teacher. He has such a great teacher, I couldn't imagine him having a different teacher. I am so excited for him to have a great party!!
So here to changes coming. Ready or not here they come!! I can take whatever is thrown our way and I know that we are going to be ok. Better than ok, GREAT!! Our goal this year was Chris to get a job and us to move out and I think we are accomplishing both the goals better than what we thought. We have to keep positive on things that are coming because they are for sure going to be good things for us.

Day 30 – A photograph of youself today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days
